The Wee Foddie’s Self-Care Christmas Gift Guide 2017

Yet another Christmas Gift Guide you say?! Indeed it is. It seems far too early to be writing this (for me anyway!). But, before we know it Christmas will be around the corner.

I’m going to admit, this probably isn’t the most conventional gift guide. It’s more of a – you’ve been having a bit of a tough time this year – these are things I would recommend to help you along the way.

I’m the kind of girl who likes to receive practical and thoughtful gifts. And if you’re also looking for some gifts to help pick someone up in times of need then I recommend this list. If you’re also looking to drop some hints, to a loved one, then it’s all in here.

I’ve had a bit of a rough year, this year, in terms of battling with my mental health.  12 long years of battling my IBS has taken its toll a bit. So you may see a bit of a trend when it comes to anxiety reducing products. My recent self-care series has encouraged me to take time out for myself, so you’ll also find some items for pampering and well-being in there too.

These are all tried, tested and loved by me.

Self-Care Christmas Gift List 2017

  1. Organdle, Tealight Gift Box, £15. I have previously written about my love for Organdles products here. How gorgeous is this gift box with love heart shaped candles inside and you can pick your scent. Great for relieving stress and anxiety.
  2. Wild Sage & Co, starting from £4. This gorgeous company is creating all natural products. I have been using both the soap and salt scrubs and they’re both bliss. Perfect for those self-care and pampering days.
  3. YuYu Water Bottle, starting from £34. I have raved about this product for a while now. It’s simply a long hot water bottle that can help during days of chronic pain or just when you’re looking to get cosy. I have the fleece one and I absolutely love that it can be tied round you. Especially when I’m having a bad day with my tum. I’d honestly recommend this gift to anyone. I’m obsessed with mine.
  4. The Anxiety Solution, £10.39. Written by Chloe Brotheridge. This aesthetically pleasing book, is more than just an attractive front cover. Chloe who has also suffered anxiety issues, speaks from the heart and makes you feel less alone in your journey. There are also tasks given to you throughout the book. I follow Chloe on Instagram and she often gives out some great advice on her stories. An anxiety book probably wouldn’t seem like a “normal”Christmas gift. But for someone in need, it would be perfect.
  5. The Food Diary Co, £14.99. This beautiful, discreet three month food diary is perfect for those suffering with digestive issues or any health issues. There are boxes so that you can track your mood, sleep, food, symptoms, stress, drinks, medicine and exercise. It makes a gorgeous addition to your handbag without anyone having to know what’s written in it!
  6. I Can Cards, starting from £8. A positive and alternative present for someone. These little boxes contain 25 affirmation statements on them. I’ve been using the anxiety and depression cards and have found them quite effective. There are also break up, self-care, post natal depression, warrior women and single parent cards too. I just love this idea, it’s like a little box of reassurance that can be opened whenever you like. I’m sure someone looking for a little boost would be very appreciative of these.
  7. OMGTea, starting from £17.95. If you know someone who’s a Matcha lover, then this is the Matcha you need.  Katherine, knowing the benefits of Matcha tea, created this product to help her friends and family live long, happy and healthy lives. This organic tea is really pretty damn good and was created with the mission to support health and wellbeing. There is also a lovely gift set on their site, perfect for a Matcha lovers present.

Happy Christmas shopping guys – remember to let me know how you get on with these products!
